Vision and Objective
The loftiest Vedic vision is symbolised in the following Vedic Mantras.
These Mantras show that our vision is universal, our objectives are universal, our aspirations are universal and our prayers are also universal. Indeed we consider the entire earth as one Rashtra.
The well-wishing Vedic seers gave us the Rashtra, vigour and strength by dint of their knowledge and penance. As the intellectual class of the society and Rashtra, we must ever remain alert and help increase its prosperity, wisdom, lustre and strength. This is summed up in the following mantras.
The present national boundaries are therefore arbitrary and are not considered permanent. Yet the established fact of shrunken boundaries due to the ravages of time, circumstances and our follies cannot be wished away and whatever is in our profession has to be preserved and protected at all costs. Thus while our ultimate vision is universal our immediate concern has to be the nation. Social and national aspects must have immediacy and primacy in all our efforts including research.
The Institute must not therefore confine to pure academic research. While the approach must be academic the content of research must be socially and nationally relevant. Academic research does have a place, but the emphasis has to be on socially relevant research.
