The central objective of Swadhyay Mandal is to promote the well-being, cooperation, progress and prosperity of the people by propagating moral and spiritual values and the philosophy of right action as enjoined in the Vedas and Bhagavad Gita. It also seeks to promote inter-faith and inter-philosophic dialogue. It is not meant only to work in isolation but also to reach out to people and get them involved in the mission in their own interest. Local people in particular, need to get associated with Swadhyay Mandal and feel convinced that it is their Institution working in their own interest. To this end therefore Swadhyay Mandal arranges certain programmes and activities on regular as well as occasional basis.
People from Killa Pardi town come to Swadhyay Mandal every morning for practising yogasans. There is also a flow of customers to Kamadhenu Panchagavya Aushadhalay. Morning and evening pooja and aarati is conducted daily in the new temple and is enthusiastically attended by local residents. Every year Ramanavami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navaratri and patotsav [foundation day of the temple] are celebrated on a large scale. Kathas, kirtans, pravachans, lectures and yajnas are arranged as often as possible. Yoga shibirs, seminars and conferences are arranged on various interesting topics and are enthusiastically attended by local as well as outstation people. The Gujarati monthly, Veda Sandesh is subscribed to and avidly read all over. Local and non-local people are encouraged to visit Swadhyay Mandal for dialogue, discussion and guidance. The Bhrahmarshi Sanskrit Vidyalay affords education in Sanskrit, computer operations and Pourohityam [Karmakand]. The association and involvement of people helps further the aims and objectives of Swadhyay Mandal.

Remembering Panditji

The staff of Swadhyay Mandal conduct every Saturday, collective prayer designed by Panditji. It is continuing since 1948. Every week the staff thus remembers Panditji in gratitnde and receives inspiration to vigorously carry on his mission.
The bust of Panditji overlooking the campus and with a canopy was installed in front of ‘Anandashram’ some years ago. Panditji’s jayanti [birthday] on 19th September and puniyatithi [final departure] on 31st July are solemnly observed. His bust is garlanded and silent prayers are offered. The events as usual, are largely attended. Pandit Satavalekar Smriti Samiti was set-up in the town many years ago and it comprises of eminent persons from the town. The Samiti arranges periodically in the town, memorial lectures and get-togethers in fond remembrance of Panditji.
In order to perpetuate Panditji’s memory the local municipality has constructed an imposing gate at the entrance of the town and named it as “Brahmarshi, Padmabhushan Pandit Satavbekar Praveshdwar”. The city street on which Swadhyay Mandal is situated is named as ‘Pandit Satavlekar Marg’.
Killa Pardi, a small town was known all over India, after Panditji settled there in Swadhyay Mandal. There was a continual flow of visitors and luminaries from all walks of life to Killa Pardi which made the people feel proud. No wonder therefore that the people of Killa Pardi fondly cherish Panditji’s memory and feel proud of location of Swadhyay Mandal in their town.
